Propane fire tables connect to a standard 20 lb propane tank stored beneath or beside the unit, making them easy to place anywhere on your patio without a gas line. Natural gas models like the Granville 60" Fire Table require a dedicated natural gas line but eliminate the need to swap or refill tanks. If you have an existing gas line on your patio, natural gas is a convenient long-term setup; if not, propane gives you more placement flexibility.
BTU, or British Thermal Unit, measures how much heat a burner produces per hour. Our Hampton and Granville fire tables are rated at 45,000 BTUs, which is well-suited for warming a standard patio seating area on cool evenings. A higher BTU rating means more visible flame height and more radiant warmth at a comfortable distance from the table.
Most of our fire tables are designed with a raised burner assembly and enclosed base that helps direct heat upward rather than downward toward your deck surface. That said, we always recommend checking the clearance specifications listed on each product page and using a fire-resistant mat as an added precaution on wood or composite decking. Placement away from overhead structures and combustible materials is standard practice for any open-flame outdoor appliance.
